My Skin Care Routine

I am so excited about my updated skin care regimen! I feel so good about my skin that I have gone the entire week without foundation! This post is just an initial compilation of my routine. Expect future posts with more details. If you have any immediate questions regarding products, please email me (minimaestra@hotmail.com) or ask in the comments.

For reference, my skin type is combination. Also important to note, I live in a dry and sunny climate. I am most concerned about protecting my skin from premature aging and preventing pimples. Here is a quick glimpse at my regimen:

    1. Thanks for mentioning that! I forgot to list it with the products!

For the longest time I was brushing my face with a toothbrush because I did not want to buy the almost $200 device...but then the Mia came out so I could handle that price much more! :)

    1. When I first started using it I got really red and itchy because I was pressing too hard.

Hope your DHC order works for you! I am so in love with the deep cleansing oil!

  3. Michelle, do you use the cleansing oil with the mia? If so, how does that work for you. I like the way the mia feels, but I don't necessarily think that it makes my face any cleaner or clearer

    1. Hi Daisy!

I apply two pumps of the oil and massage that into my skin...so relaxing! Then I rinse that off. Then I apply the bar soap and use the mia brush with that. My skin feels so amazing after using the DHC products...I feel so clean and nourished! Other products make me feel clean, but tight and dry. The DHC products do not give me that feeling.

I like the mia more for exfoliating and how nice it feels. I had a complimentary microdermabrasion facial over a year ago and the aesthetician was shocked at the fact that the machine hardly had any dead skin in it when my facial was over. She came to the conclusion that it was probably because I used the mia skin brush regularly.

  4. michelle-- tell me about the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. i have heard so much great things about SK-II but their stuff is so freaking expensive!

    1. Hey Ping! Yes...that bottle was expensive! Yikes! But I love the results and I think it will last me about six months. The SK-II website describes the results as "supple, smooth, radiant skin" which is definitely what I feel. I completely stopped wearing foundation because of this stuff.

I hate to push such an expensive product...but stop by a counter and get a sample of the essence. One sample bottle lasted me about about 9 days. It is 0.3 ounces.

I will have more info in a post soon! For now do some Google searches...so many reviews of this product!

  6. Thanks for sharing your skin care regime. Good to know! How long does it take to do this routine? I'm in rush in the morning...

    1. Oh gosh...it does take some time just to wash and prep my face! Probably a little more than 5 minutes...but so worth it to avoid pimples and premature aging! :)

  7. Wow does using the Clarisonic day and night dry your face out? I use my Olay Pro X just at night and sometimes if I don't moisturize enough, it feels a bit dry so I dunno if my sensitive skin can handle it in the morning too. I use the Clinique All About Eyes as well and like it so far!

    1. Hey Karen! I do not feel dry at all from the Clarisonic. I only use it around my nose, forehead, and chin in the morning for 60 seconds. Then at night I use it for 60 seconds all over my face, and a little extra around my nose area.

I love that Clinique has bonus gifts...I wait to buy my eye cream then. :)

  8. The clarisonic is amazing. Been using that for a couple of years now. One amazing skin care routine that I adapted to lately is oatmeal scrub. Works wonder and also natural.

  10. Hi there, I'm re-affirming your views on the Clarisonic and SK-II! I use these two as well... they work really well for my skin (normal, bordering dry) and I normally step out of the house without any makeup at all too. I heard that the SK-II cellumination essence would give a healthy glow to the skin as well. Do let us know if you try it.

DHC sounds really nice. I've seen it around but haven't tried it yet. I just might after reading your comments!
