Petite Fashion Challenge #10: Summer to Fall

"Take traditionally summer pieces (like tank tops, shorts, mini skirts, sundresses etc.) and make them appropriate for fall."

Thank you to Liz of Fashion for Teens for hosting this challenge!

American Eagle dress / Banana Republic vest, xsp / Anthropologie belt
family locket / Ann Taylor bracelet / Frye boots / Gucci purse

This belt is great for smaller waists since it can be fastened at any spot! Currently, this style is available in black.

No socks for boots? Cut a pair of regular socks!

This locket is from my grandma's collection. I wish I knew more about it! I was always so intrigued by it as a kid. It feels so special wearing it now as an adult!

  1. I think this is my most favorite outfit I've ever seen you in!! I love the vest, I think I'm adding a vest to my "want" list.

  4. Very cute. I hope the start of your school year goes well. Here's a question for you: since you are petite and young looking, do you try to dress more conservative/mature for parent night? I have a parent open house tomorrow night and I was totally stressing about what to wear. I wanted to wear something slightly more casual and comfy since tomorrow is virtual Friday for me, but then I have to be there until 9pm for the 'rents to show up, and I want to look like a mature adult who they can trust their kids with. I ended up going with a sheath dress and cardigan, but I was torn between "pencil skirt/blouse" (what I felt like a proper teacher should wear) and "denim mini/T shirt" (What I want to wear on a casual Friday).

  10. The socks cutting is genius! Who needs knee-high socks, right?! Love the boots and your cold weather version. You always look so happy and radiant :)

  11. I love the idea of cutting up a pair of socks if you don't have boot socks. I find that if I wear regular socks with boots, sometimes the tops of boots rub my legs the wrong way. This is such a genius idea!

  20. This is so very you - cute, fun, with a flirty boho flair. I just adore the concept of a grandmother's jewelry piece filled with history. How special that you have this locket and the photos inside are precious - do you know who they are? Grandpa?

  22. That locket is beautiful! Looks like there's a lot of history behind it as well.

I like that your bracelet echoes the texture of the belt and your boots are a great touch - thanks for the tip re: socks for boots!

  23. @Olyvia It is very Sailor Moon-ish with the crescent moon! :)

@PetiteAsianGirl I am making the assumption that that is my great-grandfather. Also guessing that is my grandma in his arms. "Cora" was not her name, so I gather that is my great-grandmother. I need to ask my dad next time I see him!
